Highway 37 Closure Causes Traffic Delays On Novato Streets

NOVATO, CA – Novato police are advising drivers to be aware of traffic delays on certain roads due to the continued closed of Highway 37.

A portion of Highway 37 in Novato has been closed since Sunday, following rain and flooding over the weekend. With the closure, police said Tuesday that there has been more traffic proceeding through Novato public streets during commute hours, particularly on westbound Atherton Avenue and westbound Olive Avenue.

"Novato PD patrol officers will be monitoring these areas closely, but please be aware of the increased traffic and plan accordingly," police said in a statement.

Police also asked community members to contact the Novato department to report any unsafe conditions on city streets.

"Your extra attention to safe driving practices and continued patience during this temporary situation are important and appreciated," officials said.
