Highway 37 Remains Closed In Novato For Repairs

The section of roadway between Atherton Avenue and Highway 101 will be closed until at least Thursday morning for emergency road repairs.

NOVATO, CA – Following steady rainfall and frequent flooding in recent weeks, State Route 37 in Novato will stay closed this week for repairs.

The section of roadway between Atherton Avenue and Highway 101 will be closed until at least Thursday morning in both directions for emergency road repairs, the California Highway Patrol announced Monday. Officials said Caltrans hired Ghilotti Construction Company, which has an office in San Rafael, to raise the level of the roadway, in an effort to prevent the road from flooding during future storms.

More storms are expected to hit the North Bay later this week and continue into next week. Therefore, the California Highway Patrol said the local construction company will be working 24 hours a day to complete the roadwork.
