IHOP Customers Shelter-In-Place During Novato Gas Leak

MARIN COUNTY, CA – PG&E crews and Novato firefighters were at the scene of a gas leak today.
A construction crew ruptured a 2-inch gas line outside the International House of Pancakes at 144 Vintage Way around 11:20 a.m., Novato Fire Protection District spokeswoman Sandy Wargo said.
Patrons inside the restaurant were briefly ordered to shelter in place, Wargo said.

The restaurant is separate from the Vintage Oaks at Novato shopping center, which was not affected by the gas leak, Wargo said.
Firefighters cordoned off a street corner near the restaurant, Wargo said.

Novato fire officials said at 12:20 p.m. that the incident was to be be resolved in about an hour and that PG&E crews were responding.
