Come and discover a unique method of using soft linoleum blocks to create paintings. This class could also be used as an introduction to print making with rewarding results. These patterns and images provide a unique opportunity for mark making on paintings. They can be used whole or have areas masked off. The images can be blotted, sanded, smeared, washed over or anything else you may do in the painting process. All materials will be provided.
Francis Snyder has a MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute where he majored in painting. He also studied at the Art Students League in NYC. There Snyder was able to study fundamentals from a student of Hans Hoffman, Vaclav Vytlacil and an Abstract Expressionist, Norman Lewis. Currently he is exhibiting in Room Gallery in Mill Valley and Merwin Gallery in Vermont. Visit his website at: francissnyderart.com.
