Kinsey Throws Novato Under the Bus Again

The Giacomini-Arnold-Kinsey crush all political dissent machine is at it again. Hatchet man Kinsey used the platform of a Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM) to savagely and personally attack absent Novato City Council member Pat Eklund for doing her job to voice Novato’s homeowners and residents concerns regarding housing quotas to the Metropolitan Transit Commission’s (MTC) Planning Committee of which Eklund is a member.

As a result of her committee memberships Pat Eklund is in a position to make the unfiltered housing preferences of Novato residents heard at a very high level within the MTC and ABAG. She stands undaunted before the regional planners of the alphabet agencies.

The remainder of the Novato City Council and City Manager offer little resistance to the regional agencies dictates despite continual public objections by Novato residents something to keep in for the next election.

The experienced and politically savvy Eklund has been the sole ”inconvenient truth” on the Novato City Council as she does her homework and pushes back against steamroller tactics of the regional planners and their social engineering philosophy. Only Pat Eklund has had the backbone to publically stand up to ABAG and the MTC on behalf of Novato residents.

Supervisor Kinsey’s unprecedented public and snarky attack against Eklund is apparently driven by frustration. As a card carrying member of the “total obeisance” school of County-State relationships and the “let them eat cake” school of constituency relationships he has been caught out of sync and tone deaf to the determined resistance of the majority of Marin residents to high density low income housing mandates and state imposed Priority Development Areas(PDA’s).

Kinsey fears this truth will spread and his only choice was to “shoot the messenger” in the back at a time and place where she had no chance to publically respond, Kinsey has no problem doing this despicable political act apparently lacking the cajones to take on Eklund face to face. This was political backstabbing at its best. There is something very creepy about Kinsey’s comfort while doing this that makes you want to back out of any room he occupies. Never turn your back on this dark prince.

Kinsey’s savage assault on Eklund and by association her constituency in Novato evidences his personal frustration with being unable to impose his personal ultra-progressive political philosophy upon the residents of Marin, Novato in particular, and having to face the political reality that he is swimming against the tide.

Kinsey with Judy Arnold’s silent support was the last minute, behind closed Senate doors saboteur of Marc Levine’s bill reducing housing density requirements for Marin. This was a truly unforgiveable, disgusting, and slimy political assassination betraying Novato.

It is time to begin replacing Marin County Supervisors who feel their personal agenda trumps that of their constituency.
