Loaded Ghost Gun Found With Teens In Car Parked At Closed Marin County Park: Police
A 16-year-old was arrested after officers found an unserialized handgun, alcohol and cannabis during an early-morning stop, police said.
NOVATO, CA — A 16-year-old was arrested early Saturday after Novato police found a loaded ghost gun in a car parked at Miwok Park after hours, police said.
Around 2:26 a.m., an officer saw a car parked at the closed park and contacted its two teenage occupants.
An officer said they saw an open alcohol container and an electronic cannabis smoking device inside the vehicle, according to the Novato Police Department.

Police said they searched the vehicle and found a loaded, unserialized firearm, commonly known as a ghost gun, under the driver's seat.
Officers also found additional alcohol, cannabis and packaged nicotine products in the vehicle, police said.

During the investigation, officers learned the 13-year-old passenger had been reported missing.
The 16-year-old driver was arrested and booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall on weapons-related charges, police said.
The 13-year-old was transported home and cited for providing false identifying information.
