Police said witnesses gave them a thorough description of the suspect, and minutes later, a citizen called and reported a man without much clothing on Taft Court near Arroyo Avichi Park, about a half-mile away from the attack. Menendez-Magana fled from the area and headed back toward Lark Court where he was confronted by officers who were still at the scene, according to police.

After a short foot chase, Menendez-Magana was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, being under the influence of a controlled substance, delaying and obstructing a police officer and providing a false name to police.
