Man Forces Girlfriend Into Closet at Gunpoint: Novato Police

Police arrested the man on charges of domestic violence over the weekend.

NOVATO, CA - Police arrested a 40-year-old man early Saturday in Novato on suspicion of domestic battery, police said.

Vince Soto was arrested at 4 a.m. at the Novato Days Inn at 8141 Redwood Blvd. where officers said they found cocaine and oxycontin.

On Friday officers responded to Leafwood Drive on a report of a woman screaming for help. Officers allege that Soto assaulted his girlfriend, stopped her from calling 911 and forced her into a closet at gunpoint, police said.

Soto was booked into jail on suspicion of assault with a firearm, domestic battery causing injury, false imprisonment and two counts of possession of narcotics.

Officers obtained a search warrant and found a gun in Soto's room, police said.
