Man Stabbed After Refusing To Give Up Wallet, Cell: Police

The robbery victim was treated for life-threatening injuries at Marin General Hospital, police said. Two suspects sought.

NOVATO, CA – Local law enforcement is seeking leads on two suspects, who reportedly stabbed a man in Novato after he refused to surrender his cell phone and wallet in a street robbery last month, according to authorities.

The victim was hospitalized for life-threatening injuries at Marin General Hospital after the Mrch 23 incident and released several days later, the Novato Police Department said.

Initially called on that date at 11:30 p.m. to the hospital, officers began investigating the robbery case which occurred on the 400 block of Alameda Del Prado in Novato, police said.

The male victim, 29, told officials he was standing near his apartment when approached by a man and woman, who demanded his cell and wallet, the agency said.

"When he refused to give these items to the suspects, the victim was stabbed several times," the department said. "After assaulting the victim, the suspects left the area in a dark-colored sedan."

The vehicle was described as a dark-colored, possibly black, two-door Honda sedan or similar type vehicle, police said.about

The suspects, were described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s, between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall, with a thin build, and a Hispanic female in her mid-20s, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with a thin build.

Both suspects were wearing dark clothing, police said.

The Novato Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects.
