Marin Christian Academy and Noah's Ark Preschool to feed 10K in Marin

NOVATO, CA – March 16, 2016

On Tuesday, April 5, hundreds will gather at Marin Christian Academy and Noah's Ark Preschool – teachers, staff, parents, and students – to take part in the Feed the Hungry Pack-A-Thon to prepare and pack shelf-stable meals to be distributed to families in need in our community.

MCA and Noah's Ark Preschool have set a goal to pack 10,000 meals in one day. Working together with Helping Hands Fight Hunger, they will pack meals assembly-line style at their campus on April 5 from 9:00 a.m. - noon. They will then work with local agencies, including the Novato Human Needs Center, to distribute the packed food to families in need.

To wrap-up the successful packing day, there will be a celebration event in the evening featuring dinner and bounce houses. Petaluma Poultry (home of ROCKY® the Free Range Chicken and ROSIE® the Original Organic Chicken) has signed on as a major sponsor of the event, and will be there with their food truck selling meals for $8.00/each with proceeds going to the fundraiser. Included with the price of a meal is our Bounce House Zone—which includes several inflatable activities with unlimited jumping.

MCA is utilizing a custom-designed donation platform called FundEasy to raise funds for this event. Students and families have set up personal webpages to solicit donations via a crowdfunding model.

All money raised will go toward this important service project and help with the ongoing growth of the school and its technology program.
