Marin Christian Academy to Pack 10,000 Meals for the Community

Marin Christian Academy and North Bay Christian Academy to pack 10,000 meals to be distributed in Marin and Sonoma Counties
NOVATO, CA – March 19, 2018

On Tuesday, March 27, students, families, faculty and staff will gather on the campus of Marin Christian Academy to take part in the third annual Feed the Hungry, Pack-A-Thon to prepare and pack 10,000 shelf-stable meals to be distributed to families in need in our community and those affected by the recent fires.
MCA and NBCA have set a goal to pack 10,000 meals in one day. Working together with Helping Hands Fight Hunger, we will pack meals assembly-line style on our campus on March 20 from 9:00 a.m. - noon. We will then work with local agencies, including the Novato Human Needs Center, SF-Marin Food Bank and others to distribute the packed food to families in need.

We will wrap-up a successful packing day with a celebration event in the evening. Petaluma’s What a Chicken will be serving meals with proceeds going to the fundraiser. Included with the price of a meal is our Bounce House Zone—which includes several inflatable activities with unlimited jumping.
MCA is utilizing a custom-designed donation platform called FundEasy to raise funds for this event. Students and families have set up personal webpages to solicit donations via a crowdfunding model.
Funds raised will go toward this community service project with additional funds going toward the ongoing growth of the schools and technology upgrades.
Other sponsors include: Bank of Marin, Acre Gourmet, MSM Maintenance Supply, and Clover Sonoma.
