The man and his 13-year-old son were thrown from the vehicle in the accident, officials said.
MARIN COUNTY, CA – The Marin County Sheriff's Office has identified the driver who died in a solo vehicle crash in Mount Tamalpais State Park Thursday afternoon as Trygve Walter Hansen, 53, of Inverness.
Hansen was driving a 2005 Toyota Scion west on Ridgecrest Boulevard between Panoramic Highway and Fairfax-Bolinas Road in west Marin County around 4:40 p.m., the sheriff's office's coroner's division said.
The man failed to negotiate a curve near Willow Camp Fire Road, careened down a steep embankment and rolled several times before stopping several hundred feet below the road, Chief Deputy Coroner Roger Fielding said.
