Marin Outpatient MRI Now Part Of Marin Healthcare District

The center, formerly known as Marin Advanced Imaging Center, has served the North Bay medical community since 1984.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Marin Outpatient MRI is now part of the Marin Healthcare District system, district officials announced Friday. The center, formerly known as Marin Advanced Imaging Center, has served the North Bay medical community since 1984.

"We are pleased to add this location to our imaging offering in the North Bay," Ken Cortes, director of imaging services and biomedical engineering, said in a statement. "Residents can rest assured knowing that they have access to a full suite of advanced imaging services close to home."

All professional imaging services are provided by California Advanced Imaging Associates, radiologists who have sub-specialty qualifications in spine and musculoskeletal imaging, neuroradiology, brain and body imaging read scans. Marin Outpatient MRI also has an active breast-imaging program, which will be an enhancement to the Marin Healthcare District's Breast Health Center, according to the district.

The following imaging services are offered at Marin Outpatient MRI:

  • Abdominal and Pelvic MRI
  • Head and Neck MRI
  • Orthopedic MRI (hips, knees, shoulder, ankles, etc.)
  • Magnetic Resonance Arteriography (MRA) of the aorta, head, lower leg arteries, renal arteries, carotid arteries)
  • Spine MRI
  • Breast MRI
  • MRI Guided Breast Biopsies

"Our efforts to modernize the facility include the addition of a 3 Tesla magnet which will improve efficiency and add state-of-the-art MRI imaging currently not available in Marin County at the center," Lee Domanico, CEO of Marin Healthcare District, said in a statement. "We are also updating the patient areas to improve the overall experience, comfort, and privacy."
