Marty Balin returns to Marin for one-night performance
Marty Balin founded the Jefferson Airplane and was lead singer/songwriter for Jefferson Starship. He returns to Mill Valley this Saturday.
If you know the music of Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship, then you already know the work of Marty Balin, who founded the Airplane in 1965, and and was lead singer and hit songwriter for Jefferson Starship in the 1970s.
Fans of the Jefferson Airplane will recall his vocals on ”Volunteers”, “Today” and ”Comin’ Back to Me.” Marty’s hits from the Jefferson Starship days include songs from the hit Red Octopus album like ”Miracles” ”Count On Me” ”Runaway” and ”With Your Love.” He has had a solo career with hit songs like ”Hearts”. Marty is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Marty is returning to Mill Valley this Saturday night to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Jefferson Airplane, and to perform songs from his repertoire of hits -- as well as new songs from his upcoming album.
