K-9 Officer Nova will soon hit the streets to protect and serve alongside his human partner.

NOVATO, CA – Welcome to the Novato Police Department's newest recruit: K-9 Officer Nova, a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois that joined the force earlier this month.
Nova will work in the patrol division alongside his human partner, Officer Brian Ringo, after the pair complete a five-week training program, the department said.
"Nova is our third police dog, joining K-9 Rookie and K-9 Koa in our canine unit," police said, adding that the dogs are trained in handler protection and narcotics detection.
