Motorcyclist Dies In Marin County Crash

MARIN COUNTY, CA -- A man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Sunday morning on state Highway 1 in unincorporated Marin County, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP said the crash was first reported at 10:54 a.m. on the highway just south of Fairfax-Bolinas Road and near the Bolinas lagoon.

Witnesses said the motorcyclist slid into the rocky lagoon, according to the CHP.

Bystanders helped the motorcyclist, described as a 31-year-old man, before he was hoisted into a CHP helicopter and taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he died around 1 p.m. His name hasn't been released pending the notification of the next of kin.
