North Bay Juvenile Behind School-Shooting Threat ID'd: Police

Social media post said Casa Grande High School in Petaluma was to be a target, officials said. (Breaking)

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – A juvenile was identified and located this morning as the suspect who allegedly threatened to carry out a shooting at a Petaluma high school in a statement posted to social media, according to police.

Starting around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, investigators worked overnight to identify the suspect responsible for the post, which indicated that a shooting would occur today at Casa Grande High School, located at 333
Casa Grande Road.

Their initial investigation found that the threat wasn't credible, but around 8 a.m. officers were able to identify and locate the suspect who allegedly posted the threat.

Police said there's no longer an active threat to the school, and no cause for concern for students on campus.
