NOVATO’S
BUSINESS NEIGHBORS HELPING EACH OTHER
The Novato Human Needs Center and the Redwood Credit Union
Host a Clean-Up Day on Saturday, June 8th from 8AM to Noon
The
Novato Human Needs Center (NHNC) helps community members and neighbors in need
to alleviate the financial and emotional hardships that many
low-income Novato residents experience in their daily lives. In collaboration with the Redwood Credit
Union (RCU), NHNC will participate in a Clean-Up Day at the Center’s location
at 1907 Novato Boulevard to brighten this unique community nonprofit that helps
4700 neighbors a year work towards self-sufficiency. Dedicated volunteers from the Center and
Redwood Credit Union will make this event a success by contributing their time
and expertise to brightening the entrance and driveway to the Center.
“Redwood
Credit Union believes in the Novato Human Needs Center’s mission of helping
people in crisis and promoting self-initiative and improvement,” said Richard
De Ramon, Redwood Credit Union’s Novato branch manager and former NHNC board
officer. “RCU is committed to the philosophy of ‘people helping people,’ and this
is one of the many ways we demonstrate this, by supporting our communities,” he
added. De Ramon, along with Robert Friedman from RCCU’s business development
department, will be rolling up their sleeves for the garden clean-up project.
DeannaEuritt, Executive Director of NHNC says, “We are very grateful for the
enthusiastic support of the Redwood Credit Union. We simply cannot carry
out our mission without the support of our business partners like RCU who are truly
good neighbors who care about our community.”
As a recent
client stated when she began her new career as a Certified Nursing Assistant,
“I am so grateful for NHNC’s assistance for helping me with a resume and
guiding me towards job opportunities. I don’t know where I would be without
their help.” In addition to employment guidance, the
Center will launch its 41st year of the Holiday Share program in
November. The Center also helps ensure that Novato residents in crisis receive
emergency food from our pantry, senior services, rental assistance and case
management support and guidance.
