Dear NUSD Secondary Community Member,

I want to thank you for your patience and input as we navigated the secondary grading conversation. On Tuesday, May 5, 2020, NUSD added to the available option of credit/no credit. Secondary students now have a choice of receiving credit/incomplete or the grade they had on March 13, 2020, on their second semester report card and transcript for 2019-2020.

Here is a link to a document entitled NUSD Revised Grading Policy for Secondary Students Spring 2020. This document includes a Table of Grading options, some clarifications, and frequently asked questions and answers. Students and families will hear from their school principal or counselor soon about making a grading choice.

As was clear from the beginning of this process, there is no perfect decision regarding grading in this unprecedented time. We hope that you feel heard and valued in the process.

Sincerely,

Kris Cosca
