Novato Man Booked On Drug, Ammunition and Attempted Theft Charges
Novato Police said they apprehended the suspect after a police dog sniffed out suspected narcotics.

Novato Police arrested a 31-year-old Novato man on suspicion of attempted motorcycle theft and drug-related charges Wednesday.
An officer on patrol reportedly saw a man leaning into the open passenger door of a parked vehicle on Marin Valley Drive near Bolling Drive at around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
A Novato Police canine unit was called to the scene and reportedly sniffed out the presence of narcotics — 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine. The suspect was also found to be in possession of .40-caliber pistol ammunition and suspected burglary tools.

Police reported that a motorcycle parked about 20 feet away from the vehicle was believed to have been tampered with. Further investigation led to the police charging Vega with attempted vehicle theft.
Manuel Antonio Vega's bail at Marin County Jail was set at $60,000.
