Novato Man Caught in Stolen Car After Brief Pursuit, Police Say
Police say the man tried to run from them before he was ultimately caught.
LARKSPUR, CA- A Novato man was arrested Wednesday in Larkspur in connection with stealing a vehicle out of San Rafael, police said.
Victor Rivera, 32, was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, resisting arrest and violation of probation.
At 8:43 p.m., an automated license plate reader notified officers with the Central Main Police Authority there was a possible stolen vehicle traveling east on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Officers began searching for the vehicle and located it parked on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

The driver, identified as Rivera, was seen running from the vehicle and into a nearby parking lot. He was taken into custody after a short pursuit, police said.
The vehicle, a 1994 blue Honda Accord, was reported stolen out of San Rafael on Tuesday.
