Novato Man Found Dead Last Month Tests Negative For Coronavirus
Domo Eli Harmon, 36, was found dead and, according to reports, died after experiencing flu-like symptoms and was a coronavirus candidate.
NOVATO, CA —A 36-year old man who died last month from flu-like symptoms tested negative for coronavirus, the Marin Independent Journal reported on Monday, citing a report from the Marin County Coroner’s Division. Roger Fielding, the chief deputy coroner, told the newspaper that testing for the virus was completed during the forensic examination of Domu Eli Harmon last week and that the results of the testing was received by the coroner’s division on Monday.
In an email to the newspaper, Fielding wrote that the cause of death is pending investigation and won’t be finalized until toxicology reports are completed. The process takes anywhere from 4-6 weeks.
Harmon was found dead at his home on March 24 during a welfare check, the paper reported. When last contacted approximately two weeks before the welfare check was ordered, Harmon had an underlying health condition, Fielding told the paper. Harmon also had “non-specific complaints” which were described as “flu-like”, according to officials. Due to the circumstances surrounding his health, Fielding told the newspaper Harmon’s death was considered to be a possible coronavirus case.
