Novato Police Looking for Man, Vehicle Wanted in Connection With Home Burlgary

Police are asking residents with video cameras set up in the areas of Marion Avenue or Eighth Street to check their footage for the suspect.


Police are looking for a man and a vehicle wanted in connection with a home burglary Thursday in Novato.

Around 12:20 p.m. Thursday, a resident returned to his home in the area of Bryan Drive and Marion Avenue where he found a person, described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old, inside a gray or pewter-colored car parked on his driveway, police said.

The resident spoke with the man, who claimed he was lost and drove away, according to police.

The homeowner went inside his home to discover it was burglarized and quickly notified police.

Surveillance video footage showed a vehicle believed to be connected with the burglary, police said.

The vehicle is described as a 1997 to 2001 Lexus ES300 with damage to the front driver’s side and bumper, according to police.

Police are asking residents with video cameras set up in the areas of Marion Avenue or Eighth Street to check their footage for the suspect vehicle.

On Friday, police released a video of the vehicle on YouTube.

The suspect may have arrived to the area around 11 a.m. and left at 12:20 p.m., police said.
