Gas Leak Sealed; Shelter In Place Canceled In Novato

The line's rupture was caused by a construction crew, officials said.

NOVATO, CA – Novato police have canceled a shelter in place alert after a PG&E crew sealed a gas leak on Hamilton Drive Thursday afternoon.

A construction crew ruptured a half-inch plastic gas service line on Hamilton Drive prompting the shelter in place alert early Thursday afternoon.

PG&E crews responded shortly before noon to the leak near 19 Bel Marin Keys Blvd. to stop the flow of gas. Only one business in the area was affected, utility spokeswoman Deanna Contreras said.
