Favorite song: “Over the Rainbow” by Eva Cassidy

Favorite Covid Teaching Moment: 5th Graders reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at the Novato City Council Meeting/ Making homemade ice cream with Cotton Candy Cara on our virtual field trip to the SF Museum of Ice Cream.

Favorite thing about being a teacher at Olive: The school community: staff and families ( and it’s 3 blocks from my house)

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT:

Cadence W., 3rd Grade, Mrs. O’Brien’s 2/3 VLA Class:
Cadence comes to our virtual class each day excited and ready to learn! She always gives her best effort and encourages others. Cadence shows perseverance! She never gives up and asks questions to help guide her learning. Her kindness and love of learning always shine through!
Burke C. comes to class each day with a smile, ready to tackle the tasks of virtual learning. She is intrinsically motivated to do her best and embraces a challenge with persistence and focus. Burke is able to handle the online schedule and never misses a discussion or asynchronous assignment. But the best thing about Burke is her ability to collaborate with her classmates, approaching each learning challenge with patience and humor.
