Novato's Ridgway Space Station to perform Reggae/Rock Set at Marin County Fair

Novato reggae-rock band, Ridgway Space Station, set to perform on Friday, July 3rd, 2015 from 4pm to 5pm at the Marin County Fair.

Novato reggae-rock band, Ridgway Space Station, is happy to announce they will be performing on Friday, July 3rd, 2015 from 4pm to 5pm on the Three Twins Solar Stage, at the Marin County Fair.

Band members Forrest Bousquette, vocals; Jack Buzian, guitar, Jordan Kulp, guitar; Erik Trignani, bass, and Keelan Scarth, drums, are all products of Novato and San Marin high schools and the Marin School of the Arts.

The band released its debut EP,The Extra Mile, last spring, showcasing their original songs. The team is back in the studio this summer recording its first full-length album and has just this month released a new single entitled Fire Inside. Staying with the very optimistic vibe the band emits, Fire Inside, has an upbeat tempo, a breezy summer groove and inspirational lyrics. Fans can hear it at www.RidgwaySpaceStation.com or at https://soundcloud.com/ridgway-space-station/fire-inside-new-single-2015.

Fire Inside is all about perseverance and pushing through, even through the real tough times,” says Forrest Bousquette, lyricist and lead singer. “I try to be as visual as possible as I can when I write. Fire burns bright and fierce. The message is to never give up what you’re passionate about. It’s actually a very personal song to me.”

Although Ridgway Space Station has been together close to two years, band members have already played at 924 Gilman, the Berkeley club made famous by Green Day; Hopmonk in Novato, the Sleeping Lady in Fairfax, the Phoenix Theatre in Petaluma and Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley. They’ve also performed at the Marin Center’s Bioneers Conference, the Novato Art and Wine Festival, and Novato’s July Fourth Parade.

“We began with the idea of forming a simple reggae band but, given our different backgrounds and musical influences, we incorporated many genres of music: rock, reggae, hip-hop, tasteful metal and pop,” says Jack Buzian, lead guitarist. “We take great pride in writing and performing original songs. But at our shows we also cover tunes by Sublime, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rebelution and 311.”

Band members have been attending the Marin County Fair since they were toddlers. “No matter how old I am, I think the Marin County Fair will always make me feel like a little kid again,” said guitarist, Jordan Kulp, who will be attending the Berklee College of Music in the fall. “We’re all really excited to be performing at the fair.”

The band is scheduled to perform on Friday, July 3rd at 4pm on the Three Twins Solar Stage and hopes to attract fair attendees of all ages. “My 85 year-old Grandfather from New York City will be there. Our music is for everyone, I promise,” says 18 year-old Buzian.”

The following day, Ridgway Space Station is scheduled to be the final float in the Novato July 4th parade on Grant Avenue. Last year, the group’s generator overheated halfway down the path. The band is set with a bigger and better generator this year thanks to Will at Novato’s Big 4 Party Rental.

“I know all visitors will be inspired by Ridgway Space Station’s creativity, energy, and talent,” shared former Mayor, Eric Lucan, who became a fan after hearing them perform last year before the unfortunate power failure. “You won’t want to miss this band.”

Tickets for the fair are $15.00 per day for adults, in advance online, $12.00 for children and seniors. www.Marinfair.org
