OLL Middle School Students Shine at the 34th Annual Margie Burke Speech Tournament
At the Margie Burke Speech Tournament OLL students competed and earned medals in the areas of Dramatic Interpretation and Impromptu.
On Saturday, April 30th six students from Our Lady of Loretto Middle School competed in the 34th annual Margie Burke Speech Tournament. The students competed among 170 Marin County middle schoolers in the areas of Dramatic Interpretation and Impromptu. All students were coached by seventh grade teacher Elizabeth Claverie, and parent volunteer, Julie Olson. They prepared for months for this big day, and the students represented Our Lady of Loretto very well with five students receiving medals. The seventh grade competitors for Dramatic Interpretation were Claire Yacoboski(Gold) and Ava Olson(Bronze). The sixth grade competitors for Dramatic Interpretation were Ava Foge, Dylan Eshoff(Silver) and Thea Falvey(Silver). Sixth grader, Grace Perryman, won a Bronze medal for Impromptu. The Our Lady of Loretto community congratulates all the students on their hard work and commitment to academic excellence!
