Our Lady of Loretto Middle School Interactive Electives

Our Lady of Loretto Middle School students have the opportunity to explore and take a hands on approach through the various elective classes offered!

Cooking: “Cooking Around the World” with Mrs. Casey Domingo and Mrs. Holly Hass allows OLL middle school students to learning cooking skills that include food prep and specific cultural cooking techniques.
Moderator- Mrs. Cynthia Fry

Tap Dance: Tap Teacher, Mrs. Alison Falvey, encourages her students to have fun and be creative by having her students study various dance motifs (i.e. Broadway Shows, River Dance, and Modern Dance).

French: Mrs. Sabrina Kreps, a French native, enthusiastically teaches French vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural practices.

Career Development: This elective course invites parents of the OLL community to discuss various aspects of his/her career. Pictured is Bill Tyler, Novato Fire District Marshal/ Battalion Chief, talking to students and answering questions.

Knitting: Mrs. Figone and Mrs. Priest teach students how to knit and purl dish clothes.
Moderator- Mrs. Fran MacKenzie

Gardening: The Gardening elective is taught by Mr. Leonel Flores who teaches students how to properly prepare soil, how to care for vegetable garden beds. Students are also able to gather and taste the fruits of their labor.

First Aid: Mrs. Samareh Meirana teaches basic first aid skills (i.e. caring for cuts, possible fractures, and head injuries), as well as basic responses to poisoning, choking, and CPR.

Sports: P.E. Teacher, Ed, teaches and moderates various sports games and activities for students.
