Pacheco Plaza Releases Free Concert Series Schedule

Steve Lucky & the Rhumba Bums kick off Friday night sessions on May 27.

Pacheco Plaza in Ignacio has released the lineup for its second annual Summer Music Series of free concerts that run the last Friday of each month between May and September.

The organizers have set up the series to be family friendly to encourage al fresco dining. The bands play while listeners feast on foods from Pacheco Plaza tenants such as Boca Pizzeria and Wine Bar, Taki Japanese Restaurant, LaCoppa Coffee, Paradise Foods and Subway sandwiches.

The music starts at 6 p.m. and runs until about 9. Some chairs will be provided but it’s recommended that you bring your own. Here is the schedule:

May 27

Steve Lucky & the Rhumba Bums featuring Miss Carmen Getit

The Bums play jump blues, swing and jazz inspired by the 1920s-50s. Called "instant crowd pleasers" by the San Francisco Blues Festival.

June 24

James Moseley Band

This band creates an exciting and eclectic blend of Motown, R&B, reggae, soul and jazz described as a powerful synthesis of historic feel-good vibes, modern melodies and unique arrangements.

July 29

Izzy and the Kesstronics

This band seamlessly blends a massive catalogue of 1950s rock, classic country, 1930s Swing, surf and bluegrass with their original material with natural finesse.

Aug. 26

Jamie Clark Band

Toning it down a bit, this Americana outfit puts an emphasis on quality vocals and heartfelt expression.

Sept. 30

Juke Joint Band

Back by popular demand, this is an experienced six-piece "horn" band playing Memphis Soul and R&B with a shimmering sultry and funky style.
