Parade Seeks Deep-Rooted Novato Families to Honor
Help needed finding families that have four or more generations living in town.

By the Novato Fourth of July Parade Committee:
Which Novato family has the deepest roots in our fair city? The Novato Fourth of July Parade committee would like to honor Novato’s history as part of its theme for 2016 and would like your help in identifying families that have four or (is it possible?) more generations living in town.
Novato’s history, of course, starts with indigenous people from the Coast Miwok tribe and extends into the settlements of Spanish and Mexican ranchers and farmers in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Beginning with small clusters of buildings forming the early core of a town in the 1850s and ‘60s, the economy and population then started growing, but it took 100 more years before Novato became an incorporated city.

Think about families you know that have little kids, their parents, their grandparents and even great grandparents still living in town. Is it possible that we have a five-generation family in our midst? Email info@novatoparade.com with your tips and help us honor them on Independence Day.
The parade is a year-round effort planned and produced entirely by volunteers. Anyone can support the parade with financial donations, by volunteering at volunteers@novatoparade.com, and by participating in the parade. Learn more at novatoparade.com.
