Pizza Lovers Invited To Eat Their Way Through Marin For Prizes

Visitors can earn prizes, enjoy exclusive deals and vote for their favorite pizzerias throughout July.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Pizza lovers will have a month-long reason to visit downtown San Rafael this July as seven local pizzerias take part in the city's first-ever Pizza Month.

Organized by the Downtown San Rafael Business Improvement District, the event runs July 1-31 and encourages visitors to sample pizza from participating restaurants, collect stamps on a Pizza Punch Card and vote in the inaugural Pizza Month Fan Favorite Awards.

"Every pizzeria in Downtown San Rafael offers something unique and tasty. It's like a scavenger hunt for your favorite pizza," Sarah Tipple, director of the Downtown San Rafael Business Improvement District, said in a statement. "Pizza Month is a new delicious way to support our local restaurants while encouraging people to discover favorites and spend time exploring our awesome Downtown."

Participants who spend at least $15 at participating pizzerias can collect initials on a Pizza Punch Card. Those who visit four or more locations can enter to win one of four $50 gift cards, receive a 10 percent discount at Hot Italian and vote in five fan favorite categories. Diners who visit all seven restaurants receive an extra contest entry.

Participating pizzerias are Amici's East Coast Pizzeria, Frato Pizzeria, Hot Italian, Red Rooster Brick Oven, Oliver's Wood Fired Pizza, Extreme Pizza and Sapori Ristorante.

The event also features exclusive Pizza Month specials at participating restaurants and fan voting for Best Pizza Overall, Best Crust, Best Deal or Value, Best Ambiance and Most Creative Pizza.
