Police Cite Novato Man, 18, for Alleged Social Host Violation
The 18-year-old was hosting a party when he was cited early Saturday.

NOVATO, CA — An 18-year-old Novato man was issued a citation for allegedly violating the city's social host ordinance.
When police responded to a residence on Lynwood Drive at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday to look into a complaint of a party at the home, their investigation revealed that minors had consumed alcoholic beverages at the party, according to Sgt. B. Dunbar of the Novato Police Department.
Officers tracked down the host of the party, Richie Galagran, and issued him a citation for allegedly serving alcohol to minors in violation of the city's code.

"The Novato Police Department strictly enforces alcohol violations to ensure the safety of minors and the community," Dunbar said.
According to the city's website, the violation is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $1,000.
