2 Similar Robberies In Novato Under Investigation

NOVATO, CA – Police are searching for the suspects of two similar robberies in late June in Novato.
On June 26, a juvenile female reported two suspects stole her cell phone around 6:30 p.m. near Cambridge and Buchanan streets. The suspects were described as black or Hispanic men in their 20s. The victim was not injured, police said.
On June 28, two juvenile females reported their cell phones and a wallet were stolen around 4:10 p.m. in the area of Seventh Street and Marion Avenue. The armed suspects were described as a black man and a Hispanic man around 20 years old. They both wore dark-colored hooded sweatshirts and dark-colored pants during the robbery.

The victims said one suspect pointed a handgun at them, pushed one of them to the ground, and demanded their cell phones and wallet. Police said the suspects fled toward Carmel Drive. About 20 minutes later, a debit card stolen during the robbery was used at a business in Larkspur, police said.
"At this point of the investigations, we cannot conclude the incidents are related nor conclude that the same suspects are responsible for the incidents," police said.

Police believe the suspects traveled in the areas of Vallejo and Marion avenues, Seventh Street and Carmel Drive.
Several neighbors have provided surveillance video of the suspects. Authorities asked anyone in those areas who has video surveillance recordings during the times of the robberies to call Novato police at 415-897-4361 or email crimetips@novato.org.
