Police Investigating Novato Assault And Robbery
The victim said he was assaulted and robbed Monday by two suspects in the Coast Guard housing area of the former Hamilton Air Force Base.

NOVATO, CA – Police are investigating an alleged assault and robbery that occurred Monday afternoon in Novato, police said.
At 2:15 p.m., police received a call from someone reporting that an assault victim walked into their place of business asking for help. According to police, the victim reported that he was assaulted and robbed of his personal belongings by two suspects on Sunset Drive in the Coast Guard housing area of the former Hamilton Air Force Base.
When officers arrived at the scene, the victim told them that one of the suspects had a machete, and the other suspect had a handgun that he used to assault him. The victim suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and sought medical treatment at a hospital, police said.

The victim told police he thought the suspects may have fled the area in a silver compact vehicle. Additional officers, including a canine team, conducted an extensive search for the suspects, but were unable to locate them, police said.
