Police Seek Suspect In Novato Bank Robbery

A man walked into the U.S. Bank at 1711 Grant Ave. and passed a note to a teller demanding money, according to Novato police.

NOVATO, CA – Police were seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect in a bank robbery last week in Novato.

The robbery was reported at 4:45 p.m. Friday, when the suspect walked into the U.S. Bank at 1711 Grant Ave. and passed a note to a teller, according to Novato police.

"He passed a note demanding money from the bank teller, causing the teller to fear for their safety," police said.

No weapon was mentioned or seen. The suspect fled on foot toward the Novato Library and was last seen driving a blue Chevrolet sedan, southbound on Tamalpais Avenue, according to police.

No injuries were reported.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect. He was described as a white man, 18 to 22 years old, thin to average build, and between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a teal baseball hat, blue and white-striped zip-up sweatshirt, and a black backpack.
