Report Of Armed Person At Novato Shopping Center, Police Investigating

NOVATO, CA — Police are investigating a report of a suspicious person with a weapon at the Novato Fair Shopping Center on Monday, authorities said.

AT 1:08 p.m. the police stated: "Novato Police activity has been completed with one person safely taken in to custody. The area will reopen shortly and there is no threat to the community."

The Novato Police Department issued an alert advising residents to avoid the area near the Dollar Tree store while the investigation is underway.

No additional information was immediately available.

Police asked the public to avoid the area until officers complete their investigation.
