Novato Rotary Honors Local Teachers

Novato Rotary will host the Teacher Recognition Luncheon honoring a teacher from each of Novato’s 20 schools on May 31st at the Rotary Club of Novato’s weekly meeting held at the Margaret Todd Senior Center in Novato. Each Principal nominates a current year teacher who stands out for going the extra mile for others. Comments made by School Principals regarding the teacher they chose include:

•  “This teacher gets to know his/her students well and sets goals both academic and personally”. 
•  “She/he has taken on the additional responsibility to mentor a fellow teacher...” Other statements by Principals regarding their teacher nominations are: 
•  Under his/her guidance, students leaders have done amazing work this year.”
•  “Through the years, many parents have expressed their gratitude for what she/he has meant in their children’s lives.” 
•  “She/he provides staff training in using technology to enhance education.”

Rotarians request that the 20 teachers stand on stage, raise their right hand and take an oath that they will only spend their $200 gifted award on themselves, not their classroom or anyone else. The list of winners is impressive.  Thank your child’s teacher today. This is the 14th year the club has recognized local teachers.
