Varsity – The Mustangs put their undefeated MCAL record on the line against 3rd place Justin Siena last weekend. In a rematch of last year’s NCS D4 Championship Game, this time it was the Mustangs who came out victorious. San Marin came out ready to go from the opening kickoff as they played perhaps their most dominating half of the year in building a 28-0 lead. Kyle Chernoff had 3 of those touchdowns and finished with 158 yards on the day. The 2nd half saw both defenses shut each other down and both teams were only able to manage one score each in the half. On defense, Vince Sbragia had big day with 2 INTs. The line did another outstanding job stuffing the Braves offense led by Damon Moore, Eric Borders, Jose Ochoa, and Jackson Monestime.
The Mustangs now take on Marin Catholic Saturday 2:00 at San Marin in the final game of the season in a 1 game MCAL Championship contest. A huge crowd is anticipated so plan to arrive early if you are coming to watch the big game.
