San Marin’s Award Winning Advanced Drama Department presents Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Nile, May 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 12 at the Emily Gates Student Center at San Marin High School.
Agatha Christie based her play, Murder on the Nile, on her successful 1937 book Death on the Nile. She was inspired to write the novel after travels with her archaeologist husband, Max Mallowan on a Nile River Steamer in Egypt in 1933. Christie is a master of human psychology, motives and behaviors.
“Christie’s fascination with Ancient Egypt has inspired me to want to travel there some day,” says Director and Drama Teacher, Linda Kislingbury. “This is the third murder mystery I have directed and I like it the best. Christie’s characters are rich and the students researched their parts and the play and are having a lot of fun bringing it to life.” This very clever “whodunit” will keep you guessing right up to the end!
