MARIN COUNTY, CA — The search continued Tuesday for a Palo Alto couple last seen Friday in the Inverness area of Marin County.
Carol Kiparsky, 77, and Ian Irwin, 72, were renting a vacation home in Inverness, an unincorporated community in Marin, and may have been out hiking, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office. They were last seen Friday afternoon.
"They were supposed to check out Saturday morning, but all of their belongings including phone, wallets and vehicle were left at the vacation cottage and they missed an appointment Sunday," sheriff's officials said. "This is highly out of character for them and after extensive searching and investigation Sunday afternoon and evening, no clues have been located."
