Several Openings on County Boards and Commissions

Do you have expertise worth sharing on a Marin County board or commission? The Board of Supervisors would love your help on three governing bodies that have openings now.

Supervisors Katie Rice and Steve Kinsey are recruiting candidates for vacancies on the Library Commission representing District 2 (Gerstle Park, Lomita Park, Bret Harte, Sleepy Hollow, San Anselmo, Fairfax, Ross, Kentfield, Greenbrae, downtown Larkspur) and District 4 (West Marin, West Novato, San Geronimo, San Rafael Canal Area, South San Rafael, Corte Madera, Homestead Valley).  The Library Commission advises the Board and the director of the Marin County Free Library on ways of enlisting public interest in supporting and improving Library services and provides independent citizen oversight for Measure A, a special tax for the Marin County Free Library.

Supervisor Kinsey also is looking for volunteers from the Inverness area to serve on the Flood Control Zone No. 10 Advisory Board, which reviews all flood control projects as well as the proposed annual budget for the zone and advises the Board of Supervisors of its findings.

In addition, District 4 needs new representation on the Human Rights Commission, which advises the Board of Supervisors, works to foster civic peace and eliminate prejudice and discrimination.
