SMART Train Testing Planned In North Bay
Overnight testing will take place over the next two weeks in the Redwood Landfill area between the Haystack Bridge in Petaluma and Novato.

NORTH BAY, CA – Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit plans to conduct safety testing on four new rail cars over the next two weeks in the North Bay.
Testing will take place in the Redwood Landfill area between the Haystack Bridge in Petaluma and Novato. The overnight testing will begin this week between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.
The testing is part of the safety requirements needed before placing new cars
into service, according to SMART officials.

Testing is not expected to impact train service. For safety reasons, the train horn will be used during testing in the area, SMART officials said.
