State Route 37 Still Closed in Novato

NOVATO, CA – A portion of State Route 37 in Novato remains closed Friday, following heavy rain, high tides and floods earlier this week.

The section of roadway between the US-101 transition ramps and Atherton Avenue was initially closed in both directions Wednesday morning, according to an advisory issued by the Marin Area Division of the California Highway Patrol.

In an update on social media Friday morning, officials said the roadway remains closed. Officials do not yet know when SR-37 will reopen.

"At the risk of sounding like a broken record, SR-37 is still closed between US-101 and Atherton Avenue in Novato," the post read. "Caltrans crews are assessing the flooding and trying to determine how to get the water to drain away."
