Family Escapes Novato House Fire

The blaze broke out in the 100 block of Yukon Place, according to Novato Fire District.

NOVATO, CA – A family escaped a house fire early Thursday morning in Novato.

The blaze broke out around 6:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Yukon Place, according to Novato Fire District. By the time crews arrived to the scene, the fire was "fully involved" in the garage, and the family of four had safely evacuated the single-story home. The fire extended into the home and through the attic.

A total of seven engines, one ladder truck, two medics, and Novato, San Rafael and Marinwood fire personnel responded to the scene. The fire was extinguished around 7 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. Fire officials said the blaze was not believed to be suspicious.
