Suspected DUI Driver Crashes Into Novato Senior Center: Police

The crash resulted in major damage to the Margaret Todd Senior Center, according to police.

NOVATO, CA — A man suspected of driving under the influence crashed his vehicle into a building early Monday morning in Novato, according to police.

Officers responded to a solo-vehicle crash at 3:02 a.m. at the Margaret Todd Senior Center located at 1560 Hill Road.

Police said officers found the driver, 38-year-old Ermelindo Yaa-Colli, suffering from minor injuries after crashing through the side of the building.

Yaa-Colli, a San Rafael resident, was taken to a hospital before being arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.

According to police, the crash resulted in major damage to the senior center, destroying a storage area and an office.
