I recently wrote a short piece here called " Walk a Mile to Town---BRILLIANT!!!!" in "Speak Out"---which to my surprise garnered 26 comments in a little over 2 days, indicating to me that there was interest in why we have a (dumb) SMART Train Depot decision--planned for a mile from town and a Parking Lot planned for the East terminus of our little town. By the way---it was our City Council that said---"Put Up a Parking Lot" where the old depot is now! Another BRILIANT idea brought to you by some of the same folks that thought City Hall should be in a shopping center. ------Joni Mitchell first coined that phrase while visiting Hawaii----and noticing that the Elders of that area had a proclivity for chopping down Palm trees and paving over ---"Paradise". Another recent article was ---"Grand Central..." (The new $5,000,000.00 Bus station that YOU are going to pay for).
One of the comments to the article was --"Why do you want Depot down Town?" I thought that was a great question and one that would be best put to the citizens of Novato--the very same people that will pay for the Station and the Grand Central Bus Station----being stealthily planned with NO input from YOU the benefactor via your hard earned tax dollars. So here is your opportunity to say why we shoul (or shouldn't) have a Train Depot DOWNTOWN-- instead of a mile form town!---I will offer a few reasons in the comment section too.
