UPDATE: Coroner Called to Deadly Crash on Highway 101

The crash happened just north of Novato, on Highway 101 on Tuesday evening.

Update 8:56 p.m.:

The coroner’s office has been called to the scene of a fatal collision Tuesday night on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in the San Antonio area between Petaluma and Novato.

The collision was initially reported as a major injury collision around 7:25 p.m. on Highway 101 just south of Kastania Road. At least two vehicles were involved in the crash, and at least one victim has died, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP issued a Sig-alert for southbound Highway 101 at 7:43 p.m. Officials from the coroner’s office were requested at the scene around 8:10 p.m., according to the CHP.

Further details about the victim and the collision were not immediately available.

PETALUMA, CA- The California Highway Patrol has issued a Sig-alert for southbound U.S. Highway 101 due to a major injury collision south of Petaluma near the border between Sonoma and Marin counties.

The collision was reported around 7:25 p.m. on Highway 101 just south of Kastania Road.

At least two vehicles were involved in the crash, and at least one victim suffered major injuries.
