Truck Slams Into Tree Off Highway 101 in Novato, One Hospitalized

California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a crash on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in Novato this morning.

The crash, first reported at 6:01 a.m., happened when a white pickup truck struck a tree along the highway near the Atherton Avenue off-ramp, according to the CHP officials.

The driver, who was initially trapped inside the truck, was eventually taken out and transported to a hospital with injuries considered major but not life-threatening, CHP Officer Ron Simmons said.
