Valerie Young is Top Novato Finisher in Bay to Breakers
Elite female runner takes 160th overall out of more than 43,000 registered runners Sunday in San Francisco.

Valerie Young was the top Novato finisher Sunday at the Zazzle Bay to Breakers run in San Francisco, taking 14th in the female elite division and 160th overall with a time of 45 minutes, 51 seconds.
The race winner was a 29-year-old man from Morocco, Ridouane Harroufi who ran the 7.46-mile race in 34:26,race officials said. Kenyan runner Lineth Chepkuri, 23, won the women's race for the third year in a row, according to race officials.
There were 43,399 official entries.

Brian Burbank, was next Novato finisher at No. 463 overall in 51:25, good for 110th in his 40-49 age bracket. Ronald Poggi of Novato was in the same category and took 113th among the 40-49 group and 476th overall with his 51:37.
Novato’s Yanning Zhang, competing in the men’s 50-59 age group, was 61st in his class and 717th overall in 54:22.

Dan Marvier was the last Novato finisher to make the top 1,000, taking 881st overall in 7:28, good for 22nd among men 30-39.
