Vegetation Fire Slows Traffic On Highway 101 In North Bay
The blaze broke out off northbound Highway 101, north of the Redwood Landfill in Novato. (BREAKING)

NOVATO, CA – A vegetation fire alongside northbound Highway 101 in Novato forced a lane closure and slowed traffic Wednesday in the North Bay, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The blaze broke out off the highway north of the Redwood Landfill, according to the CHP. Officials temporarily closed the right northbound lane due to the fire, slowing traffic between Novato and Petaluma.
All lanes have since reopened, according to the CHP Marin Area office. Firefighters remained on the scene on the right shoulder, so officials urged drivers to be cautious.
